Out with the old and in with the NEW!

HELLO! HELLO, It’s the end of the year! I love this time of year, the holiday season is fun, but I love the new year especially!

Have you taken down your holiday decorations yet? I did 2 days after Christmas, usually I would do it the day after, but this year my husband and I were really sick. Most people like waiting until after the first of January which I can understand. My issue is I get a little salty when the season is coming to the end because I know the hot summer is ahead. So I kind treat it like a break up, I take the tree down and get all the decorations out of sight. My problem is I always miss one decoration that I put out and then when I see it, it makes me all sad inside. Henze why I call it a break up. “I’M BREAKING UP WITH YOU CHRISTMAS!” There done.

Do you have any New Year resolutions? I always do. Some people don’t believe in resolutions because they think its going to be “just another year”, but whats a life without goals? I always have resolutions! I may only live up to one by the end of the year, but trying is what counts.

So I have a story for you, today I am on the hunt to find a bamboo plant. Why you ask? So I bought one when my husband and I moved into our apartment to bring luck into our home. Now I’m not saying that we ever had super good luck throughout the years but I can’t say it hurt, until now. When I was putting away my holiday decorations I found that my bamboo died! This past month has been more challenging than most for my husband and I, things not going as planned, car issues, illness and such and I swear it is because that plant died. I alway kept the plant as a center piece on my table, but with Austin and I taking over the table with our endless amounts of homework last semester I moved my bamboo to the shelf next to the table. I swear it died because it felt like it wasn’t loved anymore. So now I am on the hunt to find a new bamboo and I need to find one before midnight because I don’t want to start the new year without some good fortune!

I hope your holiday season was full of tradition, love, family and endless memories! Here was me fulfilling my holiday tradition I would normally do with my mom, but she lives 1,909 miles away, so I did it in spirit of her! Guns blazing, watch out!

Press Cookies! I almost didn’t make them, but I knew it was a sign when my favorite Christmas movie came on “Santa Clause is Coming to Town” plus the time was right, you know 11pm is always the perfect time to bake!

Well, thank you for sticking around for story time with Ellie, I hope you all of your new years resolutions come true and you have all the happiness with this upcoming year! I have a feeling it is going to be a big year and full of sucess! Dream big!
